Snowflake Mashup

A craft for kids from 1 to 92…
Take your scissors, some printer paper, some Christmas flavoured-junk mail, tape and some string.

Make some regular old snowflakes out of the printer paper and junk mail. Vary the sizes.

Cut your snowflakes in half, or cut curvy chunks out of them. Save all the pieces.
Cobble the pieces back together any which way you like. Use sticky tape to fasten them together and then string them up. Follow your own rules. You are in charge. This is your life.
Listen to me. Or this little guy will not be pleased…
Now, please, go have yourself a fine fine day! ♡

    I love them made out of junk mail. I just so happen to have a bit of Christmas flavored junk mail this time of year. I am going to set Lily to it after quiet time.

    Inspiring post, as ever. I made some regular ones with my art class kids then we glued them onto tissue backing ( I only provided pink and turquoise so they were quite tasteful !) Then we glued sequins on as well. Always room for a few sequins in my world…

    Extremely beautiful snowflakes! It's strange how the colours refresh them. I like your idea of combining different sizes and resembling different figures! The previous post was also amazing! Thank you for the inspiration!:)

    How gorgeous. The colors and whites and recycling and the re-cobbled shapes and towers! Just too wonderful! I beg to quibble on one point: "ordinary" snowflakes? Ahem. If these are your ordinary snowflakes, I hereby pronounce thee Queen of Snowflakery.

    WELL EAT MY HAND! You are crazy! These are so good! Again, you, you with the simple ideas that always turn out so friggin GREAT! Do you know how many hundreds of snowflakes I have made over the years and never once thought to cut/slice/rearrange the pieces? Gah…squandered potential!

    I never did like colored snowflakes, and the white ones can be … ordinary … but what you've done here is simply inspired! I love this!

    yeah, love this. my passion is paper. i often feel guilty so i try to do what i can to recycle and repurpose. saw you at the answer is chocolate. tfs. btw….i did a tutorial on recycling cereal, cracker, etc. boxes into gift boxes for Christmas on my blog, no biggie, just thought i'd share.
