Hey there!
Here are a couple of recently completed pots crocheted with cotton string and starched hard with a cornstarch and water mixture to hold the shape. They make a lovely sound if you rap on them with your knuckles. They were worked freestyle with two strands of cotton string throughout. Pretty much entirely done in single crochet except for a few random rows in the smaller pot.
They could hold dried or paper flowers but I kinda like them empty and just chillin’ on the mantel.

Michele, these are so lovely & organic-looking. A must for me to try. I used to crochet a lot when I was younger and still do whenever I need a new winter cap, but haven’t picked up my hooks for ages. These pots will get me going again. The reason I stopped is that I hate reading instructions! Just hate it so these pots are right up my street!
Be well,
Lisa

Hi Lisa! I’m with you when it comes to instructions. We are rebels at our core, aren’t we? I like to make it up as I go and a lot of times I fail miserably but what can I do? I am what I am. Happily, these particular pots turned out nice. So yay!

Lovely to see you posting again, Michele – we’ve missed you !

Hi Val! How are you? Well, I hope.
I know. It’s been a dog’s age. Obviously I got busy with other things and blog took the brunt of it, but I never stopped making stuff so I was thinking I might post occasionally, here and there, when the mood strikes. I will play it by ear for sure.

Hi Michele,
I’m well, thanks for asking! Since I asked about your bow-tie quilt, and your description of how to make it, I would say that I have really got into quilting – and often there is more than one quilt on the go – there’s always someone who will benefit from a home-made quilt, isn’t there!?
Currently I am hand-quilting three panels, as wall-hangings for some little people – not sure if you know of the character, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, but those are the panels.
My bags of yarn are building up too, also making for others – from wrist-warmers to ponchos. Having to go through this Covid time, I haven’t been bored. At all.
What about you, Michele, are you still quilting – and recycling?
I am so glad that you’re back and posting.

Hi Sande! Thanks for the comment. Who knew that people still receive these posts after all this time?! I’m surprised, and glad you’re there. 🙂
