I lied.

Life is funny.

Before I had a blog I was certifiably anti-computer. I thought computers were (A) addictive (B) a complete waste of time and (C) a portal to everything that is evil. This was in 2009. Not exactly the dark ages of personal computing, if you know what I mean. My younger sister Ariane had a blog though, and against my better judgement, I would visit it occasionally. I remember I was in a quilting phase at the time and one day she suggested I start a blog of my own. “Are you freaking kidding me?” I thought to myself. “Never in a million years would I be caught dead tied to a computer blogging all the live-long day! Never never! No no no no no no!”

Fast-forward 4 years. And here I sit. In front of this screen. Several hours each day. With 500 posts under my belt.

What can I say…
Um, I lied?

    Congratulations Michele, 500, such an achievement, and always sooo inspiring!

    I’ve been an avid computer hater myself. Then came the day I HAD to learn how to work on an MS-DOS machine for the job I had back in the late eighties. A few years later the company bought new Apple Mac computers (the very first ones with those little screens) and I entered a whole new world.
    In the early nineties, I went to Art School to study graphic design and I loved to make up my designs by cutting and pasting pictures, photos, sketches and text. However, by the time I got my degree, the whole graphic design world had changed into a digital one and I had to learn to use all the graphic design programmes. Can’t imagine my life without a Mac now!

    Have you noticed your pants are on fire? Now put those out and accept my congratulations. 500 posts of beauty, art and thoughtful manipulation of civilization's castoffs. You have made the world better – all thanks to the damn stupid rotten computer.

    Never never! No no no no no! You DIDN'T lie! You were mistaken. It just took a while. You were under the wrong impression. But LIE? Definitely NOT!

    Congratulations on your monumental achievement! And thank you for all of your creative meanderings and postings. You opened up a whole world for me when you posted Jane LaFazio's egg carton wreath and I took a mixed media class from her. I'm saddened to see that the wreaths will no longer appear regularly in my mailbox but I certainly do appreciate all that you have posted!

    Now I'm off to create the 'Paper Dahlia Wreath'. My mother will LOVE it!

    I know exactly first hand what it is like to be "dragged kicking and screaming" into blogging only to find it a satisfying and rewarding place to be!!!

      Hi Pam, I must have confused you with my story. The conversation I had with my sister happened 4 years ago. I've been blogging for 3 years. Still, I'm pretty happy with it!

    Life is quite unpredictable, isn't it? 3 years ago I still thought sewing is something other people do and I don't even touch because I can't do it.
